Friedrich Ani was born in 1959. He worked as an arts editor, police reporter and radio editor before beginning a career as a free-lance writer. He has written novels, stories and film scripts and is the recipient of several literary awards. Previous books in Hanser Verlag are DURCH DIE NACHT, UNBEIRRT (The Big Leap 2000) WIE LICHT SCHMECKT (The Taste of Light, 2002) and with Zsolnay the Crime novel IDYLLE DER HYÄNEN (2006).
Quint Buchholz, born 1957, lives near Munich and is recognized as one of the most important illustrators in Germany. He has illustrated several books by Hanser and Sanssouci, among them BUCHBILDERBUCH (1997), AM WASSER (2000), WER DAS MONDLICHT FÄNGT (2001), DER MANN, DER BÄUME PFLANZTE (2006)
